How to request your Extended Streaming History from Spotify

Spotify's Extended Streaming History includes every song you've ever played — including the exact timestamps Strata needs to build your playlists. You'll need to request it from Spotify directly. This has to be done on a computer, not the mobile app.

01
Log in to Spotify on a computer
Go to spotify.com in your browser and log in to your account. This cannot be done from the mobile app.
02
Click your profile picture
Click your profile picture in the upper right corner of the page, then select Account from the dropdown menu.
03
Navigate to Security and Privacy
Once you're in your account, scroll down and click Security and Privacy. Then click Account Privacy.
04
Find "Download your data"
Scroll down until you see the Download your data section. You'll see several checkboxes for different types of data.
05
Select only Extended Streaming History
Uncheck everything except Extended Streaming History. This is the only thing Strata needs — the other data types aren't used.
06
Click "Request Data" and confirm via email
Scroll down and click Request Data. Spotify will immediately send you a confirmation email — you must click the link in that email to officially submit your request. Once confirmed, Spotify will send a second email when your data is ready to download.
Good to know

Spotify says it may take up to 30 days, but in practice it usually arrives within a few days. When your data is ready, you'll receive an email with a download link. The file will contain several JSON files — upload all of them to Strata at once.
